Liberty’s Independence Open 2024

Welcome to Liberty’s THIRD (!!!) Powerlifting competition! This unsanctioned meet was originally established with the intention of creating a space, where lifters of any training age or background can come and show themselves that they are stronger than they thought they were.  For most of our previous competitors, this was their first exposure to competing in powerlifting, or just competing in general.  Many of those lifters have gone on to compete on a national level in multiple sports, while some have used this competition as a launching point to get even stronger and improve the overall quality of their lives.  However this competition serves you, we are going to do our best to make sure you have a blast while you do it!

Special Guest MC:

This year, we have the pleasure of welcoming 6x Powerlifting Open All-time World Record Holder, Joe Sullivan, as our guest MC!  Joe is an all-time great powerlifter, as well as an educator and coach, who was recently featured on Men’s Journal in “Top 5 Coaches Going Into 2024.”

Saturday July 13th, 2024. Rules meeting at 8:00am. Lifting starts at 9am.

Weigh-Ins:
Friday July 12th, 2024. Time: TBD.

Rules/Equipment:
We will follow lifting standards according to the WRPF rulebook.

This will be a RAW only meet.
As this is an unsanctioned meet, we will not require singlets. The use of wrist wraps, knee sleeves, and a lifting belt are encouraged.
